Ard Stetts Flies

| Thread | Materials are bound using 08 black uni thread, switching to 05 scarlet silk to finish head |
| Tag | Three or four turns of narrow silver tinsel |
| Tip | Wound with silver doctor blue floss |
| Tail | A short upswept golden pheasant crest feather |
| Butt | Dyed red ostrich herl |
| Body | Wide silver tinsel |
| Ribbing | Oval silver tinsel |
| Throat | A collar of silver doctor blue saddle hackle tied down to form the beard. This can be left as a collar if you prefer |
| Wing | A nice bunch of stacked silver fox body hair |
| Cheek | Jungle cock eye |
| Head | Finished with scarlet silk and when lacquered will exhibit a wonderful garnet like appearance |

Ard's Notes: I have long been hankering to take the Western Doctor and create a more classic Pacific Salmon fly from it. This is my rendition; It remains untested at this time. In this tie I have used some things old, some things new, Some things borrowed, and some things blue. I find that the finished product makes an attractive hair wing fly.
