The Flies of Ken Broadhead

Ken Broadhead, as you will see below, is a man of few words, but that is OK because as the saying goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words".   I think you will enjoy Ken's take on some traditional flies tied with beads and tubes. They are styles that we have not fully explored on Salmonfly.Net but deserve our attention. Of course, Ken's talent for tying make them even more enjoyable to look at and might even inspire some of you to try them out at the bench yourself. Hi my name is Ken Broadhead and it’s an honor to be included with this sites great tyers and fisherman. I am 68 yrs. old and retired. I’ve been married for 42 yrs.; have 3 children and 11 grandchildren. I’m from the San Francisco Bay area and started fishing with my dad when I was just a pup. …been fishing in one form or another ever since.

I started fly fishing and fly tying around 1970. I don’t fish much anymore nowadays but I still enjoy tying flies - anything from dries to balsawood poppers with the only exception being the classic salmon flies. I have no patience for it.
