This version of the Sol Duc is the 7th in the series of Syd Glasso flies tied by Washington Contributing Fly Tyer, Stu Farnham. It is a variation of the Sol Duc that he previously presented (which see). He notes that he saw this version in November of 2003 when he was invited to see a collection of Syd Glasso's flies owned by Bob Taylor of Vancouver, BC. At the time, he was struck by the differences in body color. This one uses a yellow floss body rear body instead of the orange which is dominant in many of Glasso's flies.

You can find more Syd Glasso flies tied by Stu Farnham on this site at The Flies of Stu Farnham.
