SCOTT'S NOTES: The Sorcerer's Apprentice is one of my very first attempts in dressing an "Atlantic" style modern hairwing Salmon Fly. The inspiration behind this tie was the gorgeous work found in Erling Olsen's book, "Hairwing Flies for Salmon and Sea Trout" and the myriad of wonderful patterns in "Flies for Atlantic Salmon" by Dick Stewart and Farrow Allen.
