This stunning Classic Hairwing was originated by Scotty Howell in collaboration with Leon Guthrie and dedicated to River Tweed water Bailiff/Guide, Nigel Fell. See his notes below. You can see more of Scott Howell's flies at The Flies of Scott Howell. See his notes about this fly below.

Scotty's Notes:This original Atlantic Salmon fly was co-designed and developed by my good friend Leon Guthrie of Galshiels, Scotland. The pattern is a joint tribute to Mr. Nigel Fell , a well-known angler and 20-year veteran Baillif on the Boleside beat of the renowned River Tweed.

Scotty also tied several variations of the Nigel Fell, which you can see below. According to Leon Guthrie, all six flys will be displayed on the Tweed River Board at the Boleside Beat House, a great honor for him.
