No Name Mixed Wing #1 was created and tied by Samonfly.Net Contributing Fly Tyer William Lovelace.
Bill's Notes: "This fly was inspired by watching Steve Brocco at the 20th NW Fly Tyers Expo in Albany, OR. He demonstrated a fishing fly (more complex and beautiful than this) based on a variation of old Mixed not Married Wing Salmon Flies. The wing slips are stacked on top of each other and then brushed to mix the individual feather barbs to produce a fly that looks like the wing slips have separated and blended together during fishing. Mount each wing separately. For more information on old mixed wings look at the flies of William Blacker who wrote The Art of Fly Making in 1855."
