Blacker Jointed Fly was dressed by Contributing Fly Tyer Monte Smith. William Blacker (1814-1857) originated some of the most extraordinary salmon flies, many of which are quite challenging to tie, this one being no exception. Monte shows his skill and talent in tying this beautiful example.

You can see more of the flies tied by Monte Smith and many of his own designs at The Flies of Monte Smith.
