Deeply Yours is designed and tied by Jurij (Yuri) Shumakov. Tube flies have been popular in Europe and Scandinavia for quite some time, but have not gained a significant foothold in North America. Fortunately for us, Yuri has had the opportunity to fish his flies for Pacific salmon and they have proven quite successful. You can see more of Yuri's flies at The Flies of Jurij (Yuri) Shumakov.

YURI'S NOTES: This fly has the same characteristics as the Barbie Fly, but a bit heavier. Can be used on all types of line, but particularly good for deep and slow presentation on moderate current. Many Pacific salmon species don't like to rise for fly to a surface. With a hook placed in strong tubing point up you may even drag a bottom on fast sinking lines.

For information about the tubes Yuri uses to tie his flies and for more of his patterns, read his article in the Rackelhanen Flyfishing Magazine.
