Irish Spirit (Mushrush) Variant
Category: King Salmon/Silver Salmon/Chum Salmon
Hook: Saltwater or Stainless Steel straight Eye
Tail: Two Chartreuse Saddle Hackle Feathers Splayed Out, Yellow Glo Bug Yarn, Green Flashabou
Collar: Chartreuse Marabou
Hackle: Olive Green Wound in Front of Marabou
This pattern was originated by Alaska tyer Wayne Mushrush for King Salmon for the streams and estuaries of the Kenai peninsula. It's tied in the style of the tarpon fly to keep the materials from wrapping around the hook. I took some liberties with the colors, though. I happen to like the green flashabou because I had a lot of success with it for silvers and chums too. The Wayne Mushrush fly calls for two green saddle hackles at the tail, green marabou, green hackle, chartreuse glo-bug yarn and pearl flashabou.
