Pink, Red, and Blue Minnow
Category: Pacific Salmon/Salwater
Body: Silver Mylar Tubing
Wing: Pink feather, covered by gray mallard feather, tied down at shank
Head: Painted white eye (I used stick on eyes covered with a couple coats of Flexament)
The pattern for this fly came from the fine book by Barry M. Thornton, Saltwater Fly Fishing for Pacific Salmon. He notes that this fly was initially tied for the estuary but it can be effective cast in open water for Chinook and Coho. Variations are red, blue, or green feather for wing.
