This beautifully tied version of the Night Hawk was tied by the late Scott (Scotty) Howell, an early contributor to Salmonfly.Net. It is really a classic featherwing pattern converted to a hairwing, and although it was developed for Atlantic Salmon, it has a proven record for taking Steelhead and Pacific Salmon, especially Silvers.
You can read about Scotty and see many more of his flies on his page on this site, Scotty Howell Flies.
